Ten Months

Our handsome boy.
I can’t believe that we have already hit double digit months, time is seriously flying by. Every second I swear Lucas is getting older and smarter and bigger. He is quite possibly the greatest thing in our lives. He is such a great baby, everyone tells us all the time how “well behaved” he is and just the perfect baby. Which we agree with the perfect baby statement, however, he is not “well behaved” at home. He is a very mischievous baby and he thinks if he flashes his adorable smile at mommy and daddy we will let him get away with it (He is just like his daddy).
On top of all of that he seems to also have ear troubles. He has already had 2 ear infections, and we have made far too many visits to the doctor. The only good thing about that is we have 10 month stats! The bad thing about it, is that the doctor is thinking he might need tubes in his ears, which makes mommy want to cry.

Stats:

Height – 30.25in – 90th

Weight – 21.7lbs – 71st

Bath time fun
Likes:
  • Bath time – it is his absolute favorite time of the day. If we even walk into the bathroom he starts bouncing up and down and squealing. He also will crawl into the bathroom any time of the day and lift himself up and look in the tub and then back at us, like he is saying “Where’s my water?”
  • Food – as if we had any doubt that he would like normal food with how much he has liked anything we have given him. He absolutely loves getting to sit with mommy and daddy at meal time and getting to eat the same thing as us
  • Daycare – he still loves daycare. He now has 2 girlfriends at daycare. It’s pretty sweet one of the two girls is older and she will walk over and give Lucas kisses all day long and then when I come to pick him up she will stop whatever she is doing and look up and start waving and say “bye bye”.
  • Standing up – he thinks it’s a pretty cool new trick to do on his own, with the support of the ottoman, the sliding door, the tv stand, the chair, mommy’s leg… just about whatever he can find, including the bookcase that he tried to crawl up…..
  • Playing – he likes to be tossed around and playing just about anything that gets him up in the air or falling for fun.

He really gets into everything.

 Dislikes:
  • His new bedtime ritual – we were told we had to stop swaddling and let him learn to fall asleep on his own, which he figured out within days of starting. But he sure likes to scream when we first put him down.
  • His ears – as I said earlier he has some ear problems and he doesn't like them to be touched for any reason.

Yay! Bath time!!
Accomplishments:
  • Pulling himself up – he really loves to be standing and loves that he has finally figured out how to get into the standing position on his own.
  • Talking – he just continues to learn more and more sounds, he now has a “mama” and a “dada” which is pretty sweet. He also really loves to talk in his sleep. He starts every night about 3:30am and doesn't stop until we wake him up in the morning.
  •  Feeding himself – he can’t do it with all things but he has figured out how to at least put things such as puffs in his mouth by himself. He also lies on the ground and drinks his bottle with no help from us.
  • Being strong – I don’t know if that is an accomplishment really, but nothing really phases him. If he gets hurt he will just get right back up and start playing. We got him the flu vaccine and the nurse was really concerned about making him cry, once she was done she said “wow, he’s the only baby all day that hasn't cried.”

Happy Halloween!!
