Two Months

2 months old

Well our little man is 2 months old already, and still the most amazing baby in the world. I don't think a day goes by that we aren't thankful for our little miracle. We have learned so much from this little guy. It really is hard to think of a time without him, he completes our little family.

Stats:

Height - 24inches - 86 percentile

Weight - 11lbs 8oz - 46 percentile

Head - 39.37cm - 35 percentile

Likes:

• His pacifier(this should be a love not a like) - I think his favorite game is "lets see how many times I can spit this out and get it back"
• Disney music - Mainly I think he loves how silly mommy gets when its on, and when she dances with him to it.
• Cuddling mommy - he does his best sleeping with me.
• Fidget time - every day he lays on his back and kicks and throws his arms around for a half hour or more. The entire time he is doing this he is just squealing and laughing.

Dislikes

• Waiting - when he decides it is time for something he wants it RIGHT then.
• Being cold - his little lip always quivers and then he just screams!

Accomplishments:

• He is a champ at holding his head.
• He wants to see everything around him, his eyes are constantly looking at all the new things around him.
• He is amazing at grasping things and unwilling to let go.

• Laughing - it melts my heat every time!

One Month

1 month old

It’s crazy to think we are already to the point where Lucas is a whole month old! He has been such an amazing blessing to our home. I am pretty sure Lucas is the best thing I’ve (we’ve – I’m sure Vinnie would agree with me on that) ever done. He is absolutely perfect and wonderful. Everyone keeps asking us how we are surviving with a newborn at home… like we are supposed to be having a hard time, but we must have been given the best baby ever. He sleeps through the night, he doesn’t cry too often, and he seems pretty happy to just be held by someone.

 Likes:

 •Cuddling – especially all day long with mommy when dad goes to work(not sure why or how he knows daddy is gone… but he does)
•His pacifier – it is his favorite thing in the world.
•Music – he and daddy will lay and listen to it and he is just happy as can be.
•Car rides – he will sleep forever as long as the car is moving.

Dislikes: 

•Diaper changes/getting dressed or undressed – anything that has to do with making him cold!
•Baths – I think that has to do with being cold also, but I haven’t figured out the real reason for that yet.
•WAITING – he cannot handle having to wait a few minutes for his bottle to be made.
•Being put in his car seat – he loves it once he is in, but he hates the process of getting in.

Accomplishments: 

•He is getting really good at lifting his head (only for a few seconds but its pretty awesome)!
•He is really good with his hands. He can push his own pacifier back in, he also likes to pull his pacifier out and then just hold it in his hand.
•He is an amazing sleeper, AMAZING!

I absolutely love this little guy; he is everything I have ever hoped for.

Lucas Monte Hankla

During my pregnancy as most women do, I woke up quite frequently to go to the bathroom. When I woke up around 3:30am on January the 4th, things didn't seem any different than normal. Until I got out of bed and realized I had just "wet my pants". Little did I know that it was actually my water breaking. After having quite the freak out about it being "too early" Vinnie and I headed off to the hospital. I was positive I was being crazy, but at 4:40am I was admitted to the hospital. I won't go into too much detail, but unlike most women my water broke before I even started having contractions, so they had to give me medicine to get things moving. After an incredibly long day and after my epidural had already worn off, I finally gave birth to Lucas at 8:55pm. He was 3 weeks early but weighed in at 7lbs 10oz and was 21in. long. He is absolutely amazing! He is the perfect addition to our little family, he makes us so very happy!

So for all those who don't already know, Vinnie and I will be expecting our first baby in January. We are so excited to have baby Lucas join our little family. Now I finally will have a reason to blog. So for family and friends who want to keep up on our little guy and all the cute things he does this will be the place to find it! Our Little Man

Vacation

Vinnie and I finally got a little break from life and decided to spend a few days down in Utah. Here are a few pics of all the fun we had!(remember it was just the two of us... so couple pictures were far and few!)

Happy Birthday to me!

So this past weekend I turned 26th, and it was quite the weekend. On Friday night my wondeful husband took me out to dinner, and we watched a movie. Then on my Birthday(Saturday) we got to do some shopping while my puppy got his hair cut, he looks so different. Then we spent the rest of the night with my family, had some dinner and then just hung out opened presents and such. Lilli quite enjoyed the opening of presents... mainly because I let her play with the wrapping paper. Then on Sunday we went to Vinnie's brothers for a bbq. It was the first offical meeting for myself, Bruce and Carrie have six kids between the two of them that were so much fun to hang out with. I really liked hanging out with Bruce's daughter, Makenzie(not sure if thats how they spell it!) who is two she and I had a great time coloring together. It was a tiring weekend but a good one.
